Homewood Patriot Band

William Clay is an alumnus of Homewood High School and has worked as an assistant to Mr. Cooper since 2021.He is a full time student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham where he has gone back to school to study music education. There, he is a student of James Baker. At UAB, he has been a member of the Marching Blazers, Blazer Band, symphonic band, and horn choir. He is an officer of the national honorary band organization Tau Beta Sigma, and is the president of the UAB chapter of the National Association for Music Educators. Before attending UAB, he also attended the University of North Alabama where he was a member of the Pride of Dixie Marching band and The Marching Pride, as well as symphonic band and world percussion ensembles.

At HHS, Mr. Clay aids in handling many administrative tasks including band trips, uniforms, and leadership activities.
