Homewood Patriot Band

Dear Upcoming 6th Grade Parents:

 

The HMS Pep Band came to visit your child’s school and we had a fantastic time showing them just a tiny bit of what the award winning Homewood Middle School Band was like! Here are a couple of things to think about over the coming weeks:

 

• MY CHILD WANTS TO DO BAND, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

  • If your child already knows that they want to do band, make sure they sign up for band on their schedule!! Simple as that!

 

• MY CHILD IS 50/50 ON DOING BAND, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?

  • Simple: It’s easier to go ahead and sign them up for band now to make it easier for the counselors. 9 times out of 10 your child will have a friend who is doing band too and that will lock them in!

 

• WHAT INSTRUMENT WILL MY CHILD PLAY? THEY HAVE ZERO EXPERIENCE!

  • That’s not a problem! That’s why we’re here! We will have an Instrument Selection Night to determine what your child is capable of playing! As the band directors, we teach every instrument! The dates for that are listed below!

 

DATES TO REMEMBER (MORE INFORMATION COMING SOON)

• HMS INSTRUMENT SELECTION NIGHT: 

  • Tuesday, May 19th OR Wednesday, May 20th from 5pm-8pm at HMS

  • You can come on either one of those days!!

 

• HMS SUMMER JUMPSTART BAND CAMP:

  • Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th from 9am-12pm at HMS
